Designing buildings and the land around them, and the drafting work that supports both. ⚠⚠⚠ The one thing that governs this family: Florida licenses architects by STATUTE on a degree from a programme accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board, and only SIX Florida institutions hold one — five public, one private. A four-year architecture bachelor's that is not one of them is a pre-professional degree, not a licence route.
The degrees this program covers
⚠⚠⚠ THE ACCREDITED DEGREES ARE SPLIT ACROSS TWO CIP CODES, AND ANCHORING ON THE OBVIOUS ONE MISSES HALF THE STATE. Architecture (04.0201) holds 273 Florida credentials — UF 175, USF 48 master's, UCF 43 bachelor's, FAMU 6. ⚠⚠ But FAU awards NO bachelor's under that code while holding an accredited B.Arch, and FIU awards NO master's under it while holding an accredited M.Arch: their output — FAU 61 bachelor's, FIU 152 master's — is filed under Architectural and Building Sciences/Technology (04.0902), 277 more credentials. ⚠ This programme claims both, so the school list is the real one. ⚠⚠⚠ WHICH DEGREE EACH SCHOOL HOLDS IS THE DECISION. NAAB accredits FAMU (B.Arch and M.Arch), FAU (B.Arch), FIU (M.Arch), UF (M.Arch), USF (M.Arch) and the private University of Miami (both). ⚠⚠ Two of those award an accredited BACHELOR'S; three do not, so at UF, USF or FIU the licence route runs through the master's. ⚠⚠⚠ UCF IS NOT ON THE NAAB LIST, and it is the state's second-largest architecture bachelor's producer. Its Bachelor of Design in Architecture is deliberately pre-professional: a 2+2+2 with Valencia College and UF, ending in UF's accredited M.Arch at CityLab Orlando. ⚠ That is a real route, not a gap — but a UCF student must plan on the master's from day one. ⚠ THE THIRD ROUTE IS DIFFERENT IN KIND: Architectural Technology (04.0901) is an ASSOCIATE degree at 8 state colleges and leads to drafting work, not to registration. Verify any programme at naab.org before you enrol.
Careers this program leads to
Each one sets out the courses along the way, the licence or certification at the end,
and the sources behind it.
Neighbouring fields that share much of the same coursework, and often the same employers.
⚠ Read these before you commit to a major — which doors a neighbouring degree
keeps open is the part no catalog tells you, and it is far cheaper to change now than later.
15 institutions awarded a credential in this field in 2023,
at these levels: Associate, Bachelor's, Doctorate (research/scholarship), Master's, Postbaccalaureate certificate.
A school appears here if it awards anything in the field, however limited
its offering — a technical college teaching only practical nursing has a nursing
program. Listed alphabetically, not ranked.

the most recent year published. ⚠ It records what was awarded, which is
strong evidence of what is offered, but a program launched since 2023
will not appear here. Check the institution’s own catalog before applying.
