⚠⚠⚠ Searching Florida for "graphic design" finds four institutions and 89 credentials — and that is under 5% of the real picture. Around 1,900 people a year graduate into this field from codes called DIGITAL ARTS, DIGITAL COMMUNICATION AND MEDIA, WEB AND MULTIMEDIA and ANIMATION. ⚠⚠ Add the clock-hour route and Florida's technical colleges award an occupational completion point literally titled Graphic Designer.
The degrees this program covers
⚠⚠⚠ THIS FIELD IS SCATTERED ACROSS AT LEAST FOUR CIP FAMILIES AND THE OBVIOUS ONE IS THE SMALLEST. Graphic Design (50.0409) is 4 Florida public institutions and 89 credentials — UF 48, FAMU 21, USF 18, UNF 2. ⚠ Meanwhile Digital Arts (50.0102) is 16 institutions and 723 credentials with 596 bachelor's, UCF alone awarding 507 — this site's CIP tree does not yet carry 50.01, so that code is named here rather than claimed. Digital Communication and Media (09.0702) is 29 institutions and 797 credentials with 531 bachelor's — FSU 238, FAU 153, FIU 106. Web and Multimedia (11.0801) is 32 institutions and 269, mostly associate degrees. Animation and Special Effects (10.0304) adds 111 at 11. ⚠⚠ A student who searches the obvious term will conclude Florida barely teaches this. It teaches it everywhere, under other names. ⚠⚠⚠ AND THERE IS A CLOCK-HOUR ROUTE NOBODY MENTIONS. Florida's technical colleges carry GRA0026 GRAPHIC DESIGNER as an occupational completion point of 300 clock hours at 11 institutions, alongside GRA0024 Production Assistant (150 hours), GRA0025 Digital Assistant Designer and GRA0027 Media Designer. ⚠ The OCP letters are not consistent across them, which means more than one state framework uses this prefix — ask which programme you are enrolling in. A parallel digital design ladder runs DIG0081 to DIG0084 at 8 technical colleges, 150 + 300 + 300 + 300 = 1,050 clock hours. ⚠ Those are job titles you can be hired on, and they cost a fraction of a degree.
Careers this program leads to
Each one sets out the courses along the way, the licence or certification at the end,
and the sources behind it.
Neighbouring fields that share much of the same coursework, and often the same employers.
⚠ Read these before you commit to a major — which doors a neighbouring degree
keeps open is the part no catalog tells you, and it is far cheaper to change now than later.
41 institutions awarded a credential in this field in 2023,
at these levels: Associate, Bachelor's, Certificate (1-2 years), Certificate (12 weeks-1 year), Certificate (2-4 years), Master's.
A school appears here if it awards anything in the field, however limited
its offering — a technical college teaching only practical nursing has a nursing
program. Listed alphabetically, not ranked.

the most recent year published. ⚠ It records what was awarded, which is
strong evidence of what is offered, but a program launched since 2023
will not appear here. Check the institution’s own catalog before applying.
