The bridge degree: enough technology to build and evaluate systems, enough business to know which ones are worth building. ⚠⚠ 13 Florida public institutions award 735 credentials, 628 of them bachelor's. ⚠ It sits in the business school rather than the computing school, and that placement — not the syllabus — is what most distinguishes it from computer science.
The degrees this program covers
⚠⚠ WHAT MIS IS FOR, STATED PLAINLY. It trades peak technical depth for the ability to work between the technology and the people paying for it. The occupational data bears that out: computer systems analysts earn $105,850 against software developers' $135,980 — but computer and information systems MANAGERS earn $175,140 with 55,600 annual openings, and MIS is the degree most explicitly aimed at that transition. ⚠ If writing code is the point, computer science is the better degree; if deciding what gets built and why is the point, this is. ⚠⚠⚠ WATCH THE INTRODUCTORY COURSE NUMBER. Florida carries the same introduction to information systems management under TWO numbers — ISM3011 at 12 institutions and ISM4011 at 10 — and NO institution carries both. Both are upper division, so credit is not lost either way; the risk is that a transfer evaluator matching ISM3011 against ISM4011 sees a mismatch where there is none. ⚠ Send the syllabus, not the number. ⚠ Largest producers: USF 183, FAU 159, Florida State 148, and notably Seminole State College at 103 — a state college in the state's top four for this degree, which is unusual and worth knowing if you want a baccalaureate without a university. FGCU 71, FIU 34.

Each one sets out the courses along the way, the licence or certification at the end,
and the sources behind it.
Neighbouring fields that share much of the same coursework, and often the same employers.
⚠ Read these before you commit to a major — which doors a neighbouring degree
keeps open is the part no catalog tells you, and it is far cheaper to change now than later.
13 institutions awarded a credential in this field in 2023,
at these levels: Associate, Bachelor's, Certificate (12 weeks-1 year), Master's, Postbaccalaureate certificate.
A school appears here if it awards anything in the field, however limited
its offering — a technical college teaching only practical nursing has a nursing
program. Listed alphabetically, not ranked.

the most recent year published. ⚠ It records what was awarded, which is
strong evidence of what is offered, but a program launched since 2023
will not appear here. Check the institution’s own catalog before applying.
